Would mixing a body cream and oil improve my skin texture?

my skin can get quite dry so i was thinking of mixing a skin cream and oil together would this work for my skin .I want to have that baby skin look you no fresh and all.

Would mixing a body cream and oil improve my skin texture?
yes i do this regularly i apply both right after i get out of the shower so it will kinda of sink in my skin better and hydrate faster!
Reply:im pretty sure it will make your skin soft, but oil can also make your hair get darker on your body. just use cocoa butter every night, it should help. the best use of oil is on your eyelashes. if you use olive oil on your lashes every night, it should make your lashes longer.
Reply:It can work, but try not to use too much cream and oil at a time, so that it don't clog your pores up. Also, drinking a decent amount of water can help moisturize your skin internally. =]

The Verite line from Estee Lauder is ideal for cancer patients as is developed to deal with very sensitive skin for anti-aging benefits in a luxurious manner. Anything from Estee Lauder would be great...they are a company that has REALLY supported breast cancer awareness and research for absolutely years. You are a good daughter.

Home made skin cream?

I want a good recipe for a skin cream I can make myself. I am sick of all the chemical crap I find in the stores. Even some of the more 'natural' products have a bunch of preservatives in them.

I only want FIRST HAND EXPERIENCES, not something you found on a website. Thanks

Home made skin cream?
Before I can suggest anything, it would help if you could tell me a bit about your skin type, and what effects you want from a skin cream.

For example, Is your skin oily? Dry? Acne prone? Combination? Sun Damaged? Sensitive? Do you want something for wrinkles? Puffiness? Do you want a rich or light textured cream? Also, do you have any allergies?

Finally, are you wanting to make a cream from ingredients that are easy to find in health food stores, or are you willing to special order certain things? Do you have a budget in mind?

EDIT - Now that I have that info, here's a simple, inexpensive recipe you can make at home for your skin type.

1) Loosely fill a 100 ml sterile glass jar with equal parts Yarrow and Lemon Verbena. Fill the jar to the top with cold pressed grape seed oil. Keep this in a warm, dark place for at least 2 weeks.

2) Strain out the herbs and pour the infused oil into a clean stainless steel pot.

3) Add 1/3 cup Babassu oil, and 1 oz grated beeswax

4)Keep on low heat, and stir until the beeswax has melted

5)Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Leave it till the next day, just to be sure. This will thicken to a soft salve like consistency.

6) Put the salve mixture into a blender or mini food processor. Set to high and add 2 tbsp vegetable glycerine, 10 drops myrrh essential oil, 10 drops Lemongrass essential oil, and 20 drops Lavender essential oil.

7)Once those are mixed, slowly pour in 1 cup Rose Geranium water. Mix this on high for several minutes, making sure the oil and water are thoroughly blended. It will be a soft, white, fluffy cream.

8) Pour this into sterile glass cream jars, and pound them on a table, so that any air bubbles will rise to the surface. The cream will harden a bit as it sets.

That's pretty much it! This cream should keep for at least 2 years, provided all utensils were clean %26amp; sterile, and as long as the cream isn't exposed to warm, or extreme fluctuating temperatures. You should be careful to avoid certain oils such as Almond, Coconut, and Peach Kernel, because of your nut sensitivity.
Reply:you can use this ,,,, i am a pharmacy student and my doctor said it is beneficail ,,,,

bring tomoato cream and add to it vitamin c or orange juice
Reply:You need -

A base oil ( Carrier oil ) - such as :

Avocado, Apricot kernel , wheatgerm, almond oil, Jojoba

Essential oil - Jasmine, lavender, rosewood, or the oil of your choice.

A blended base oil is most effective when it comes to rejuvenating ageing and dry skin.

Start with apricot kernel oil and wheatgerm oil, mix in some avocado oil, and for the ultimate skin serum, add a touch of EPO.

Vitamin A laden apricot kernel oil mixed with the natural anti-oxidant Vitamin E from the wheatgerm oil, makes a very potent blend for reducing the signs of dry and mature skin.

Avocado oil, added to the equation, is rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids, and dry and mature skins respond to this lush oil as it penetrates deeply and softens skin.

Evening Primrose Oil ( EPO ) is an excellent addition to your base oil for mature, ageing skin. It's rich moisturising properties make it outstanding for dry skin, as it is rich in GLA, vitamins and minerals. Break 1-2 capsules into your base oil for a skin boost!

Having blended the base oils and extracts, it's time to add the essential oils. For one ounce (or a bit more) of carrier oils, you will not want to use more than 15 to 20 drops of essential oils.
Reply:ooh good for you:)

only use organic oils (yes use an oil, as it doesn't clog pores and absorbs quicklly when massaged into your skin) I like almond oil and flax seed oil (you can buy them in health stores or online at mountainroseherbs.com or fromnaturewithlove.com) grapeseed oil and jojba oil are very good as well. all oils (except mineral oil, which is crude oil, is amazing and needed for your skin. and organic oils do not contain any preservatives or added chemicals that will harm your body. go to cosmeticsdatabase.com and you can type in any product and it tells you how hazardous it is, all the chemicals it contains and what they do to your body....once you know, you'll know to go natural and organic. :)

keep researching
Reply:i use raw, unrefined, organic coconut oil- everywhere! i use it on my face, eyes, lips and as a body lotion. i then add essential oil to it and use it as a deoderant. withing 2 days of doing this i started receiving compliments on how 'radient' my skin looked. and you smell great!

If diprovate skin cream is applied to body since long time, will there be any side effects?

It is applied by my friend for allergy thrice in a week after shave and the cream will be for 12 hrs long on the skin.

If diprovate skin cream is applied to body since long time, will there be any side effects?
Diprovate is a brand name of the chemical Selenium sulfide. It's an anti-infective agent that relieves itching and flaking, and it also removes dandruff and seborrhea. For skin infections, selenium sulfide usually is applied once a day for seven days.

Side effects may include skin irritation. However, it seems as if it's supposed to be used as a cream for the skin. The instructions do not instruct the user to wash it off after, unless he/she is using it in the scalp. However, if the condition does get worse, go to a doctor.
Reply:as long as it doesn't have 20 letter chemical name compounds in it, otherwise i wouldn't

What is the best bleach skin cream for me???

i am a hispanic girl with black in me and when i am in the sun i just get really dark but not toooo dark but pretty dark and i hate it! i want to have the real hispanic glow skin i don't want to be very dark. i want the skin of Rihanna or just a very pretty skin tone similar to hers. so can u please help me get the perfect skin cream for the perfect skin tone??? thank you :D

What is the best bleach skin cream for me???
Use palmers skin whitening bleach creme. It comes in a red and whit box u can get it from CVS or the beauty supply store. It may be at Rite Aide. It will help tone and lighten ur skin at the same time. I know because my mom used to use it but stopped once she came back from Africa. She had this really nice complexion that was even and clear. She got darker because its hot in Africa but the creme kept her complexion even. The goal is not to get too light but have an even complexion. Alos use PLENTY of sunscreen when you use bleaching creme.
Reply:here's a good source of skin lightening products that's more potent than the usual commercial grade products you see online.. i've used them for a long time and if you look at the testimonials, even african american women have used and recommended them -

Cafeine skin cream while pregnant?

Okay

So I am a by the book girl in my pregnancy. I do not even drink cafeinated beverages. I noticed in my firming skin cream that I use on my booty only, it has caffeine in it. Should I be concerned? Especially since I don't drink it I hope I haven't over done it. I won't use it anymore! I am 23 weeks %26amp; have used it every morning this whole pregnancy, but just a dab....

Cafeine skin cream while pregnant?
it's fine to have one caffeinated beverage a day it should be fine with you cream
Reply:just stop using it, ...you should be fine.
Reply:There is reason to be worried, but not too worried. Everything is absorbed through your skin so the caffiene most likely has a slight effect on you and baby. I'm more concerned for you and baby's health because of the other things the cream may have in it, such as harsh chemicals that could be a lot more dangerous than caffiene.
Reply:You're fine.

Current research has said that one or two servings of caffeine per day does not place any significant risks to the pregnancy. Ask your doctor if you don't take my word for it. ;)

Total ugly skin help? Skin cream?

I have lots of zits and pimples a.k.a. acne. And i mean LOTS. I have blackheads too. I tried "Noxzema Blackhead and acne remover" but after a month, nothin' changed. Same old me. So, know ANY skin cream or wash that will help me have clear skin? I don't want facial surgery!

Total ugly skin help? Skin cream?
Arbonne Clear Advantage works well.

http://www.kristinramey.myarbonne.com

But if your acne really is severe, I recommend visiting a dermatologist. I know a lot of people are hesitant to do that, but I finally did when I was 17. She helped clear my skin AND set me on a ritual of cleansing and moisturizing day and night that has kept me acne free for years now. please consider it. Don't let your face become a science experiment by trying all sorts of products that may or may not work. See a dermatologist.
Reply:i use neutrogena oil free acne wash and that works pretty well
Reply:read tips on treating acne, skincare and home remedies on this site
Reply:try the clinique 3 step skin care stuff. it really works! it would all probably cost about less than $50 but its worth it and it you only have to buy them like twice a year depending on how much you use it.

i used to have those small acnes, and also big zits, but now i barely have them. i've been using it for about 5 months now. its the only thing that really worked for me.

oh, and when you wash your face with the soap, leave it on for about ten minutes. the dermatologists would probably tell you that just wash it quickly but that doesn't work for me. so you might want to leave it on a little longer.
Reply:Try Noxzema Deep Cleansing Mask with tingly citrus forumla! It works wonder on me. I just apply it once a week and within a month I can see visible results. No blackheads, acnes are gone, and skin becomes whiter. Because it has the citrus ingredients, it actually help fading off your acne scars. Try it!! highly recommended! Or if it doesn't work for you, then try The Body Shop the blue corn mask. Works the same too but maybe a bit harsh for dry/sensitive skin.

Does Equate Cream dry out skin in the long run?

Well, I'm 15 and have had eczema all my life. I had to find a cheap alternative to keep my skin moist, so I use Equate Dry Skin Cream. I saw the ingredients and it had Petrolatum in it and I was wondering if it's actually making my skin even drier than before?? Because my legs are unbelievably dry compared to a year ago when I wasn't using anything on my legs. And if it does, does anyone have any low-costing alternative to use?

Does Equate Cream dry out skin in the long run?
yes it will dry out your skin

my mom uses this stuff http://www.bestwrinklecream.org/

Her skin looks great she is 56 years old, she may just have good genes though.

She also got botox done last year once...made her face look funny to me. I would recommend sticking to the creams.

I use Olay brand but I can't tell any difference in myself.

Good luck.
Reply:Try Olay, they make great products that are not as expensive as the ones at the beauty counter in department stores.
Reply:Bag Balm is great for dry skin. It''s also marketed as Udder Cream. Yes, that's what it's original use is, but it IS a trerrific cream and very good for sensitive skin and sensitive areas.

As for the wrinkles - remind her that they are experince lines and show how much experience in life she has!
Reply:There is a great skin care line called Skin Ceuticals. They have Facial Cleansers, moisturizers, wrinkle serums, acne products... Everything! You can go to www.skinceuticals.com or you can try Ebay. They have a lot of skin ceuticals products on there. Good luck!
Reply:clarins foundation - Hydrates the skin and has anti-ageing ingredients in apparently :S will make her skin look great, it's what my mum uses and it's what all her friends are using :)

Skin cream..Dry..flaky..ugh..???

my skin lately has been so dry and some days even flaky.. does any one know of an over the counter cream or even a home remidee%26lt;cant spell sorry!!.. that actually works and is worth it??? ive tried so much.. and it just keeps coming back...

Skin cream..Dry..flaky..ugh..???
Try mixing olive oil, coarse salt (or sugar) and a drop or two of essential oil like lavender in a bowl till you have a thick paste.

When you are in the shower next, rub the scrub mix all over your dry flaky bits .... not your face!!!! Rinse well and then, if you feel it's necessary, moisturise with plain sorbolene cream. It's REALLY cheap and you can get it from the pharmacy, $2 shop and supermarkets.

If your face is the issue, try gentle exfoliation with oats (yes, breakfast oats) made into a paste with warm water or milk. Then, try the sorbolene after.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Have you tried udder cream (Seriously, not joking).

My grandma and mom both use - you used to have to buy it at a feed %26amp; grain store. Now it's available in most stores. look for short square lime-green tin - that's the best - or a white jar with black cow spots. (Seriously, I know it sounds crazy, but it's for real.
