[s.p.f.= Sun Protection Factor]

any sunscreen with an spf of 35 or higher, protect your skin from the uv rays. Even when the sun isn't shining the uv rays come through.

What is the reasonable % of hydroquinone in a skin cream?
What is the % of amount thats considered safe?
What is the reasonable % of hydroquinone in a skin cream?
I would say 4% because a product containing that much can be bought over the counter.
Reply:No higher than 3 - 4 %
Reply:Start with like 2% to make sure you dont have a reaction to it. then go up from there. Good luck
Reply:hydroquinone. Substance that is known to successfully reduce the intensity of freckles, melasma, and general brown patching by inhibiting melanin production. For continued and increased effectiveness it must be used long term. Unprotected sun exposure should be avoided, because it reverses the effect of hydroquinone by increasing melanin production. Occasionally, at higher concentrations, persons with a darker skin type will experience increased pigmentation, but this is rare. It can cause mild skin irritation and there is the possibility of an allergic reaction. Hydroquinone in 1% to 2% concentrations is available in over-the-counter products; 4% concentrations are available by prescription only (Source: American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, September-October 2000, pages 261–268).
Reply:Most over-the-counter products contain 2% while clinical (medical) formulations are 4%.
I wouldn't use anything higher than 4% and there's some evidence showing that even that small amount is not healthy and/or can produce even darker pigmentation in the long run.
If using more than 2% you might want to check in with a dermatologist or aesthetican to monitor your progress.
Good luck!

Anyone know a good organic (all natural - no chemicals) skin cream for dry skin that is not very expensive?
Once again, it must have NO CHEMICALS. It also must be affordable (not something like $15 for 3 oz., but maybe no more than $1 per ounce). In addition, I am NOT interested in something that can only be purchased on the internet, but would like something you can buy either in a regular store or an organic store.
NOTE: If you do not know an answer for what I'm looking for, don't answer. It's that simple (unless you wish to be reported for abuse).

Sublime is the world's finest hand crafted, 100% cold processed, non-chemical, non-preservative wholefood body skin care cream. It has been known to reduce wrinkles, age lines on the face and body, and eliminate age spots. It leaves your skin silky smooth, revitalized and nurtured.

Reply:Bodyshop has some good products.. I don't know if you have a store nearby but if you do, try the mango cream, it is very nice and not expensive. Look it up on http://www.thebodyshop.com/, it's classified as body butter.
Reply:I know a recipe for something that is relatively simple, that you can make out of things from your own kitchen right now. Mix two parts oat meal with one part milk and stir together. Let it stand in the fridge for about 2-3 minutes, and then you can use it. I reccomend using it for rough skin on elbows, palms feet, and as a facial moisturizer. I hope this helps.
(you can use any kind of milk for this, just so you know)
Reply:Did you no everything is made of chemicals? Even PLANTS?
You can use olive oil or vitamin E oil. Put in on, let it soak in for a while, then rub it off with a towel.

Would it be bad too put a skin cream with fragrance on your face?
it also had a color dye
Would it be bad too put a skin cream with fragrance on your face?
I wouldn't suggest it, no. One thing you can do though, is put a dab of your favourite perfume behind your ears, that way, although you shouldn't be allergic, if anything happens then no-one will be able to see it ! Also, it gives the same effect as if the cream (which has a weaker smell) was on your face. x x
Reply:I'm not sure I would try it, it could irritate your skin. They make creams specifically for your face, try those instead.
Reply:You could try it and see what it does to your face but I would go for the face creams where you know you will be safe.
